We have found that most homeowners are unsure what to expect when having an HVAC Comfort Advisor in their home. Our goal is to ensure transparency and make sure our customers know what to look for during our visit. The following will help provide an overview of what we will be doing in your home, some key items to have ready for the visit, products/services that we provide, our current specials and even some information regarding ways to fund the project.

Items to have together for the visit:
1. Recent PG&E statements if applicable. This will help us understand the current usage cost of your existing HVAC system and give us a guide as to where we can save you on your monthly utilities.
2. A list of your wants and needs with a new HVAC system.
3. Crawl space and or attic access accessible for our detailed inspection. This will be needed for the duct & insulation inspection if applicable.
4. Access to each room that will need or currently has heating/cooling to perform our engineering analysis.
We will be spending approximately 60-90 minutes during this process, depending on the home and scope of work to be completed. Our goal during our visit is to ensure we can provide you with extremely accurate solutions so there are no surprises.
1. Engineering analysis (Importance of a load calc): We will be walking room by room to take accurate measurements and heat load factors to ensure we are sizing your new Home Comfort system accurately. *Some companies will just use Zillow square footage but we have found that 100% of the time that is not accurate to your conditioned square footage and does not provide an accurate heat load calculation. This results in undersizing or oversizing the equipment which leads to premature repairs, failure and higher utility cost.
2. Duct inspections: Your ductwork is your heating and cooling delivery system. We need to ensure it is accurately sized for a newer HVAC system. Newer HVAC systems tend to have a higher CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of airflow and require larger ducting especially in cooling. We also make sure it is accurately balanced to ensure there are no hot or cold spots in your home.
3. Insulation inspection: Homeowners don’t realize the contributing factor that attic and crawl space insulation play on the comfort of your home and the sizing of your HVAC system. 4. Existing system inspection when applicable: We want to make sure that when adding new equipment onto existing equipment it is in good and safe working order. 5. Code requirements and needs: We will ensure that any solutions we are offering will meet the current city/county code requirements and sound ordinance. If these are not followed it can cause unwanted future cost and failed inspections.
