Fresh air exchangers
How we can put the “V” back into HVAC. What does HVAC stand for?
HVAC is the acronym for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. We are all familiar with heating and air conditioning, but what is ventilation? Heating and air conditioning has to do with controlling the temperature within our home. Air filters and air cleaners clean the air within the home but what about bringing fresh air into your home? Ventilation is the process of bringing fresh air into the home. At certain times of the year we keep our house closed up tight, for example in the winter when it’s cold outside, in the summer when it’s hot outside, or in the spring when pollen and allergens are in the air. At these times when the home is closed up tight we are circulating the same stale air inside the home through our HVAC system. When we don’t bring enough fresh air into the home through doors and windows, we can use a fresh air exchanger. A fresh air exchanger brings fresh air into to you HVAC system where it can condition it by heating or cooling and clean it by filtering it. The stale air in your home is exchanged for clean conditioned air.
